- A memory foam pillow is made up of polyurethane foam and a few added chemicals which gives it the soft, squishy yet firm structure. A memory foam pillow responds to the head and neck pressure by slowly conforming to their shape and provides extra support to keep them in place. On the other hand, latex pillows are made up of pure synthetic latex material and have a more natural composition as compared to that of a memory foam pillow. However, they lack the firmness of the memory foam and might not be suitable for people with neck and back aches.
- Since, latex pillows have a natural composition they are more suitable for people with allergies and those with respiratory problems. Memory foam pillows contain added chemicals and have a slight odor which can be disturbing for many people and might cause restlessness during sleep.
- Both of these pillows are thermo sensitive and adjust according to the body temperature. However, a 6”-9” of latex foam provides a comfort level equivalent to a 3’’-4” of a memory foam. Therefore a memory foam provides extensive support and firmness as compared to a latex foam.
